Top Tone backs up off an impressive win at the Sunshine Coast last week and looks well placed when stepping out at Doomben on Saturday.
Having returned with two good runs at the start of the preparation, Top Tone (Race 4 #7) appreciated the step up to the mile with an easy win last time out and he looks well placed again on the back of that effort.
Winning jockey James Orman stays on board and with the 2kg claim is right down in the weights today.
From barrier 12 would expect him to cross and settle on the speed and if he backs up okay he will be very hard to beat.
Top Tone is undefeated from two previous outings at the trip and despite only a modest record at the track the $4.20 on offer looks a good bet coming off his last start effort.
Honey Toast handled the step up in grade last time out and looks the main danger along with the ever consistent L’entrecote.
Later in the day Zaha’s Ace (Race 7 #6) will look to build on her good recent form, having placed in her last two outings.
Just missed at Sunshine Coast two back before being run down late when third at this C/D last time out.
Her recent form rates well against these and with only 54kg to carry looks well placed on weight adjusted ratings.
Likely to go forward again from barrier 11 to settle on the speed and with a very good record at the course and over the trip she looks the top pick.
Looks over the odds at $4 currently, with the second favourite Suit, who has failed to win a race is 623 days now.
Last week saw the first bet of the day Seeking More run a close second whilst the second bet of the day Beau Jet was disappointing when finishing down the track
Good Luck!!
