The best could be saved until last on a challenging nine race program at Canterbury on Saturday.

The James Cummings-trained Shahrazad contests the Myboycharlie @ Vinery Benchmark 84 for fillies and mares at Canterbury on Saturday, 17 days after winning at the course and distance in clinical fashion.

Settled back in the field, the Shamardal mare unleashed a powerful run wider around the turn before dashing clear from the 200m for a relatively soft two length success.

The mare will have taken benefit from that outing and strikes what shapes as a rather weak fillies and mares Benchmark 84 to round out proceedings at Canterbury on Saturday.

Shahrazad has produced all of her best work at this course and furthermore, her career best outing last start was produced on a Heavy track which will again greet the four-year-old on Saturday.

Also expected to prove beneficial for Shahrazad is the anticipated hot tempo on up front.

Glyn Schofield will be able to settle the mare back in the field who should relish rattling home off the anticipated early speed.

At each way odds, Mount Nebo appeals in the July Sprint (1100m).

The son of Dubawi has been in excellent form this campaign which included a win over 1200m at Randwick two starts ago.

Impressive about his runs this campaign is they have been produced on tracks rated between Good 4’s and Soft 7’s.

His record on Heavy reads well with three wins and two placings from seven starts.
