The Team Williams trained Silverstream is due to make her return in the final event at Ascot on Saturday and presents quite the attractive betting opportunity.
Unseen since finishing fifth behind Red Ora in the Scenic Blast Stakes, Silverstream is notably unbeaten in three previous first up attempts and has trialled very well in the lead up.
Only relatively lightly raced, the daughter of Al Maher has placed in seven of 14 attempts and did finish fourth behind Buffering in last year’s Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes.
She then started the well-supported favourite at her next outing only to be narrowly edged out by talented mare Shiedel.
The form through Lucky Street also makes for good reading and put simply at her best she appears very well placed on Saturday.
The wide draw is a concern, however she is likely to get back regardless and with the speed on upfront she should prove very hard to hold out late.
As much as $4.20 is being offered about her chances early doors which appears a more than worthy gamble as we have her marked closer to a 6-4 chance – 16% edge.
Leading rider William Pike legs back aboard aka “The Wizard” and she is certainly expected to make her presence felt.
The Jim Taylor trained Invincible Warrior won well on debut at Belmont and while stepping up sharply in grade he appears more than capable of taking that next step.
Successful in beating a subsequent winner, there was plenty to like about Invincible Warrior’s debut win and from the good draw he appears to receive all the favours.
When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he appears well placed and presents a solid betting opportunity at his current quote ($8.00).
Although lining up against more seasoned rivals, that is where an edge can be found as it looks to be over factored in the current marketplace.
He is expected to put himself right into the race from the outset and is sure to be in this for a long way.
