Target Aims Up In Winnable Race At Kranji

3 minute read

Target shapes up as a strong chance in the Kranji Stakes C over 1700m in Singapore on Friday night on the back of some handy recent form.

Running well for a close second over 1800m two starts back, Target appreciated the slight drop in trip to score a nice win over this C/D last start in and looks well placed to go on with it today.

Drawn out wide jockey Glen Boss should roll forward on the five-year-old gelding to settle on the speed once again and running to a new career peak last start that effort certainly brings him right in to this.

The son of War Front finds himself taking on tougher company today but there is plenty to like about his recent efforts and this looms as a very winnable race remaining over the 1700m trip.

Doesn’t appear to be a great deal of speed in this field so he should find the front without too much trouble and if his last couple of outings are anything to go by he will be very hard to run down.

Mighty Emperor has been only fair in recent times but certainly finds himself in a suitable race today.

Battled on to finish midfield in the Kranji Stakes B behind Lim’s Regard last start and continues to race well without winning races.

The six-year-old gelding rates well enough off his recent form and if he can run up to his last couple of outings he will more than likely to right in the finish.

Drops back to the 1700m where he has won on three previous occasions and could also appreciate going back on the Polytrack as well where he has run well previously.

From the handy draw will look to settle off the speed and expect him to be getting to the line very strongly.

Yaya Papaya also comes into consideration after running on well to finish fifth in a Class 3 over 1400m last start.

Should appreciate the step up to the 1700m today with both previous wins coming on the Polytrack where he appears to do his best racing.

Gold Faith rounds out the main chances for David Hill having not been far away in all three runs this year.

Finished fifth in a Kranji Stakes B last start and taking on slightly easier company today he is more than capable of running into the finish.

Good Luck!
