The Team Pearce trained Money Maher has been a pin-up horse for the Best From The West followers and see no reason to jump off his back on Saturday.
Due to line up in the eighth event (W.A.T.C. Derby), Money Maher has won both the traditional lead ups, most recently taking out the Listed Melvista Stakes [2200m].
While only a narrow margin, he never appeared in any danger and the step up to 2400m should post no concern. He notably had the Bar Plates removed last start which suggests the stable has him spot on and he appears primed to run another big race on Saturday.
The middle draw should keep him out of trouble and expect Noske to adopt a fairly forward position in a race which looks to lack a lot of early speed.Early markets have him as much as a $7 chance which appears well over the odds given he has won both lead ups hard in the market ($3.75 and $4.5).
Confident he is the best horse in the race, evident by his solid showing in last year's Group 1 Kingston Town Stakes [1800m].Until they tick the 2400m box you can never be too confident, however at his current odds more than happy to find out.
The Jodie Noske trained Salorsci remains a big watch fresh on Saturday as he appears well placed to make a winning return in the fifth event.Having pulled up with excuses when failing to fire as favourite in the Group 3 Northerly Stakes [1400m], Salorsci was very good winning at this C&D two back and he has trialled very well in the lead up.
Salorsci is unbeaten over this trip (2/2) and is unbeaten fresh (3/3), he certainly ticks a few boxes. From the middle draw he is expected to adopt a forward position and should prove very hard to beat.
