Thinking it could be a decent step up in class that ISLAND DEC needs to take here today. Her 2 career wins so far have been good, but this is a step up in class now. Race map is interesting for her as she is drawn to the inside so may end up shuffled back on the rails. At her current price I think there is room to risk her in this field.
Randwick: Race 7; #10 Traffic Warden
Form from the Golden Rose starting to look a bit average. He's short price against some established topliners.
He made it three wins on the trot last time out but I think he had plenty in his favour. He got the perfect trail from the low draw with the race shape to suit. This time around he swaps an inside draw for an outside draw and isn't suited under the set weights and penalties conditions of the race.
Caulfield: Race 10; #1 Pinstriped
Three runs in under four weeks might've just seen Gentleman Roy out in the Memsie, where Pinstriped had the perfect run to win on the back of Mr Brightside. There has to be more horses between the two of them in this big field and I'm surprised with the SP last start that Roy isn't closer to favourite. A tough 1400m in possibly wet conditions, I know who I want on my side, the big, strong on-pacer.
Ascot: Race 9; #6 Watch Me Rock (PLACE)
Will roll the dice and lay the fav the drum at around $1.35. This race has depth and the map looks sticky. He's a horse who always goes around well under my price.
