The Ballarat based training combination of Tony and Calvin McEvoy were well pleased in taking out the opening two-year-old race of the season when Hiatus opened his winning account in the 900 metre event.

Coming out of the Morphettville stable of Phillip Stokes The Mansman came from midfield with an inside run to bring up his second win from ten starts.

Having the services of Victorian apprentice Tatum Bull Angelic Appeal came from last on the home turn with a strong run over the concluding stages.
Coming off a last start third on the Parks track at Morphettville Truly Elsa was too good for her rivals in the 1000 metre fifth race.
Ridden by Matthew Chadwick the Darren Magro and Aimee Bush trained Truly Elsa came from well back to win.
