Alpha Miss gave Gary Nickson a rare win at Randwick with an impressive Gimcrack triumph.

Alpha Miss scored a good debut victory showing good pace to cross from her wide barrier to race on the quarters of the leader Tetsuko.

She pressured the leader the whole way down the straight and only proved the stronger in the concluding stages.

Tetsuko drove through from a middle barrier to lead on the fence. She kicked strongly in the straight to only find the winner slightly the better over the concluding stages of the race.

Lucky Raquie raced in fourth position one out one back. She came three wide on cornering and ranged up looking a winning chance at the 250m. She tired a little on her run and layer in a little late.
