The former Sydney-trained mare Angel Of Mercy raced away to an easy win in the Northam Cup.
She began nicely and settled in fifth place, one off the rails.
She moved up shortly after straightening, took the lead at the 200m and then raced away for a comfortable fourth length win in smart time (1:34.05).
Finnegans Gold had a good run in fourth place, one out and one back, before challenging shortly after turning for home. He kept fighting on from the 200m to hold second, having no chance with the winner.
Miss Tipsy Topsy was well back to the 600m and was still giving the leader about ten lengths nearing the home turn. She then kept running on fairly well in the centre on the track, getting up in the last few strides to claim third place, beaten five lengths.
The favourite Barnsley Lad ($3) was seventh on the rails, switched across heels rounding the home turn and had clear running on straightening. But he only kept battling on from there to finish fifth.
