Mouro proved far too classy in the Eclipse Stakes at Caulfield.
Top weight Mouro was very good in winning here.
He worked wide in the early stages from his outside barrier and settled outside the leader from the 1000m point. He challenged at the 600m, took the clear lead on straightening and fought back particularly well for a gutsy half length win under his 59kg.
It was his sixth win in 13 starts and his first at Group level. He looks capable of progressing to even better things.
Rain Drum travelled well in fourth spot most of the way on the rails. He went to third at the turn, challenged at the 200m and kept battling on very well for a good second only beaten half a length.
Bel Thor was back in seventh place to the 600m, he switched wide passing the 300m, where he was giving the leader about five lengths, and kept running on for a good third.
