Better Than Ready confirmed his class with a determined success in the Listed Brisbane Keith Noud Handicap.

He began smartly and enjoyed a good run in fourth place, one out and one back, before putting in a strong run to challenge at the 200m point.

He then kept fighting on gamely under his top weight (60.5kg) to win narrowly but very well and in smart time (1:08.96).

Benny’s Buttons raced outside the leader (Audacious Spirit) before getting to a narrow lead half way down the straight. He then fought back particularly well when challenged for a good second, beaten a head.

Morning Captain had a good run, third on the rails most of the way to the turn. He got into the clear, along the rails, at the 200m marker and battled on nicely for a sound third.
