Knightlike did enough to claim the GA Towton Cup on a big day at Ascot.
The favourite Knightlike ($5) settled back in tenth place in the 14-horse field.
He gradually improved, wide with cover, from the 1000m but was held up between runners rounding the home turn. He got a split nearing the 300m, challenged at the 150m and ran on resolutely to win well, going away by half a length at the post.
Cyber Crime raced in seventh place between runners, got into the clear rounding the home turn and went to fourth on straightening. He took a narrow lead at the 100m and battled on gamely for a good second, beaten half a length.
Malaika ($21) was sixth on the rails to the turn, got along the rails half way down the straight and kept fighting on well for a good third.
