Chase The Rainbow grabbed his second Group win claiming the Carlyon Cup at Caulfield.
Chase The Rainbow began quickly and settled nicely outside the leader Bit Of Hell, travelling at a moderate early tempo (first 1000m 64.00).
The pace picked-up passing the 600m and he took a narrow lead shortly after straightening. He then fought gamely in the sprint home to score by the barest of margins.
Star Rolling had a good trip, fourth one out and one back. He challenged strongly at the 300m and kept fighting all the way to the post, being beaten a short half head in finishing second.
Pakal ($2.10 fav) raced in sixth place, one off the rails, to the 600m. He switched deep nearing the home turn and battled on quite well in the straight for third, beaten just under two lengths. He was unsuited by the tempo of the race, putting up a sound first-up effort.
Bass Strait was third on the rails to the turn and held on for fourth.
