Tales Of Fashion emerged victorious in the Lancaster Stakes at Doomben after a very tight finish.

Tales Of Fashion was quickly away then eased to get a good trip third on the rails.

She was travelling well coming to the turn, but was blocked until she got an inside run on passing the 200m. She hit the front at the 100m and then lasted to win in a three-way photo finish.

Freezethemillions settled seventh on the rails from her inside barrier (1). She switched across heels, getting into the clear at the 200m and then kept running on well to take second, beaten half a head.

Elitist was fifth between runners. She was under riding coming to the turn, switched wide rounding the turn and steadily made ground to finish a close-up third. She should appreciate stepping up in distance.

Rosella was tenth on the rails, got an inside run at the 200m and made ground for fourth beaten one and a quarter lengths.

The favourite Shinji raced outside the leader, challenged on straightening and looked a threat but dropped out from the 100m to finish eighth beaten just under three lengths.
