Avoid Lightning proved too good in the feature June Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

Avoid Lightning scored a most dominant victory under her top weight of 59kg, coming from sixth on the fence to show a good turn of foot in the straight and draw right away to score by two and three quarter lengths.

Zaratone ran along in front as usual. He could not match the winner’s turn of foot in the straight and battled on gamely for third.

Kneeling was trapped three wide from her outside barrier (9) in sixth position before taking the turn on the outside. She closed gamely for third.
