The favourite Tic Tick Boom made it five wins from her last six starts with victory in the Belmont Oaks.
She settled back in tenth place, following a very slow tempo (first 1400m 1:32.58) even allowing for the Dead4 surface.
Tick Tick Boom improved three wide with cover from the 800m, put in a run to join the leaders coming to the 200m and then fought back gamely, in the sprint home to score narrowly but well.
Star Of Husson raced in last place in the 13 horse field before moving up (wide out) from the 700m. She sprinted quickly to challenge at the 200m and looked the winner, but was out-stayed in the closing stages for a very good second, beaten only a head.
I’m Feeling Lucky was near the tail of the field most of the way and was shuffled back to last of all coming to the turn. She fanned deep on turning for home and ran on quite well to take third, beaten two and a quarter lengths.
