Three-year-old filly Thiamandi was away well from her good barrier (3) and Michael Rodd eased her due to the quick early tempo and she settled in third place, enjoying a perfect trip.

She travelled well and moved up on rounding the home turn, took the lead at the 200m and then drew clear to score decisively by two lengths, putting up a smart effort.

Gig remained at the tail of the eight-horse field to the 600m. She was under riding by Vlad Duric rounding the home turn, went to the centre of the track at the 300m and ran on well late to grab second.

Nearest To Pin was fifth, one off the rails. He moved to fourth at the 200m and kept plugging on well for a sound third.

The $1.40 favourite Lord Of The Sky was quickly away and raced a bit keenly in the early stages before travelling outside the leader (Le Bonsir).

They went along at a brisk early pace (34.85 first 600m, on the Dead5 track) before Lord Of The Sky briefly hit the lead at the 200m but his early efforts quickly told and he just battled to the post to finish (3.6 lengths) fourth.

Ready To Rip raced in sixth place, three deep, before fanning wider at the home turn. He then ran on fairly well from that point for (3.9 lengths) fifth.

Grand Emperor plugged on nicely from second last at the turn for (4.7 lengths) sixth while Le Bonsir surprisingly drove though from his inside barrier (1) to lead the field until the 300m before tiring for (6.5 lengths) seventh after working in the early stages.
