The dominant return of the Shane Baertschiger trained Ami remained the highlight on Friday night, with the son of Falkirk winning easily in the final event at Singapore.

Stepping out for just his fourth career start, the now five-year-old proved far too good for his rivals, when saluting comfortably by three lengths.

Ami

Jumping away well from the middle draw, Ami tracked the speed in second.

Travelling strongly entering the straight, Ami quickly ambled up to Mac Volks, before letting down strongly to draw clear passing the 200m.

Successful in recording a new career peak, Ami improved nine pounds and recorded strong time figures in the process.

His performance was marked eight lengths quicker than the other four races held on the polytrack and averaged 11.48 second 200m sections for his last 800m.

During his maiden preparation, Ami's was only tried over 1200m, and is likely to be stepped up in trip at his next outing.

Though not lined up against any stars, Ami defeated his rivals with ease on Friday night and is expected to improve further when seen again.

Titanium

The Michael Freedman trained Titanium was one of the stand-out performances on Sunday, when saluting narrowly in the seventh event.

Stepping out for just his third start, Titanium was somewhat thrown in the deep-end following his dominant victory two back.

One of only two three-year-olds engaged, Titanium was still quite raw when proving wayward in the straight.

Although forced to sit wide early, Titanium always appeared to travel comfortably, after Corey Brown eased him back, to slot in passing the 1000m.

Pulled to the outside on straightening, Titanium proceeded to lay-in under pressure, before Brown quickly straightened him up passing the 300m.

Digging in deep over the concluding stages, Titanium really attacked the line to score narrowly, edging out the Patrick Shaw trained In Fact.

Improving nine pounds on his previous best, the son of Tavistock has really impressed in his three starts, as he appears to be doing a lot of it on raw ability.

In a race clearly run to suit the front-markers, Titanium was able to overcome the moderate tempo and maintained a long sustained run.

Titanium averaged 11.24 second 200m sections for his last 800m and recorded the quickest last 600m.

From a ratings perspective, he is a galloper clearly heading in the right direction as he continues to make impressive jumps.

Though still very early on, we feel he is a galloper that could be targeted towards next year's Group 1 Singapore Derby, as he is bred to relish the step up in trip.

Admittedly there is a lot of water to go under the bridge between now and then, however he has given all the right indications to this point.

Titanium remains one of the Singapore's most promising three-year-olds and should be followed closely.

Exceed Express

The Laurie Laxon trained Exceed Express also proved very impressive on Sunday, when demoralising his rivals in the ninth event.

Another three-year-old thrown in the deep-end against the older horses, Exceed Express passed with flying colours when leading throughout.

After carving out a good solid tempo, Exceed Express powered away in the straight to score by four-and-a-half lengths.

Successful in bringing up his fourth victory from seven starts, the son of Exceed and Excel improved 11 pounds on his previous best.

The form through both Himalaya Dragon and Blue Swede confirms the strength of his performance, as both came into the event setting a good standard.

Though no match for Affleck as a two-year-old, his latest performance suggests he has made stark improvement and is not far off Singapore's current star three-year-old.

It will be interesting to see where Laurie Laxon now heads with Exceed Express, as he is galloper who remains under strong notice.

Blue Swede appeared disappointing in the same event, however his performance held plenty of merit, after getting a long way back.

Hitting the line gamely, Blue Swede will derive plenty of benefit from the performance, as he returned to the races 28kg heavier than his previous start in the Group 1 Singapore Guineas.

He has displayed good ability in his short career to date and is another who should be followed at his next outing.
