Missy Longstocking was a handy sixth, three wide with cover. She switched out at the 300m and battled on in good style for (3.7 lengths) fourth while Richie’s Vibe made ground from last at the turn to finish (5 lengths) fifth.

He hit the lead at the 50m and went on for a narrow but impressive first-up win. Flamberge was a handy third, but trapped three wide.
