Ready For Victory put up a very good effort to win on debut and he looks a quality colt with a bright future. He settled back in seventh place, edged into clear running at the 400m but was soon under riding. He improved to third at the 150m and then came with a strong, late run to score narrowly but impressively.

Heatherly showed her usual pace to lead but was steadied in the early stages before sprinting clear at the 300m, looking the winner. But she tired a little in the closing stages and was overhauled nearing the post for second.

Claudia Jean showed good pace and was second to the 200m, and although tiring from that point, just held on for third.

Tiz My View was a handy fourth most of the way and battled on quite well to hold that position at the post, beaten just over three lengths.
