Black Opal Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) winner Takedown again began quickly and soon crossed to the lead. Kerrin McEvoy was then able to steady the pace (first 800m49.20) before lifting the tempo from the 600m. He took a clear advantage at the 200m, and despite racing a bit greenly, went on to win quite comfortably by a length and quarter.

Street Rapper enjoyed a good trip in third place to the home turn and fought on well for second.

Mine Two settled in second last place in the 11-horse field and remained there to the home turn. She went to the rails nearing the 200m and battled on well for a promising third.

Cartier Rock ran on quite well from sixth at the turn for (2.3) lengths fourth whilst Wolf Cry held on for (2.4 lengths) fifth after being handy on the rails and Delawar kept battling of quite well for (3.3 lengths) sixth, after turning for home in seventh place on the rails.
