Epingle wins 2015 Goldcoastwebsites Chairmain’s Group 3 $125,000 at Gold Coast (QLD), 2200m.
Epingle stepped up quickly to 2200m at her second run this preparation to win well. She went forward from the barrier and settled outside the leader before being shuffled back to sixth (between runners) at the 800m. She got a split on straightening, got to the front at the 200m and proved the superior stayer in winning well by a half-length.
Favourite Index Linked was ridden quietly from barrier one and settled in second last place in the eight-horse field. He got along the rails rounding the home turn, went to the front at the 200m and battled well for a sound second.
Volkhere was a handy fourth on the rails, stuck to the inside and went to third at the 200m and kept battling on to take the minor placing.
