Drawn midfield, Stolen Dance jumped with them and jockey Danielle Johnson then found the fence and took up the running. She cruised along in front but was pressured by Kelly O’Reilly before the last corner who sat close a neck back. Into the straight, the daughter of Alamosa took advantage of the rail and put two lengths on them and, while urged along, the field did not make an impression and at the line she was still a length clear - a good, front-running effort.

Rasa Lila was last after the jump and remained there until the 600m then raced around the field, very wide, into the straight. She kept up a strong gallop out in the middle of the track all the way to the post for a good second, but too late.

Silverdale was also wide approaching the turn (just in front of Rasa Lila) and ran on strongly in the straight just failing to hold out Rasa Lila at the post.

Eagle Technology Stakes (G3)

Type: OPEN

This G3 mile held under set weights and penalties unsurprisingly saw the quinella formed by mares at 53kg namely Stolen Dance and Rasa Lila. Stolen Dance led the whole way like the other stakes winner on the card and never looked getting headed to score by a length and a quarter and clock 1:37.65. The 4yo mare was winning her seventh race in eleven starts and has only been out of the first four once when pulled up in a G2 here on New Years Day this year. Her sire Alamosa also provided the other stakes winner on the day Alamer so wet ground clearly is a plus with this stallion. Stolen Dance at the mile has the impressive record of seven starts for six wins and a second. The runner up Rasa Lila came with her customary big late run from well back down the outer and the 5yo mare is right now mature and at her prime. She loves the mile and is a very consistent type having been top three in fifteen of her nineteen starts to this point. Silverdale was the first male home and after being back and wide unleashed at the same time and wide out with the runner up. Fourth home was another mare in Queens Rose that trailed to the home turn and was second still at the 200m. Sakhee’s Soldier ran another modest only race and has not come up this year so far but cannot be far away surely with some key summer targets to come. Carlotta is an improver as ridden much handier than normal and is best when detonated from the back in a solidly run race. Survived just does not race at his best here for some reason but deserves another chance at another venue as had looked to have come back well for a new yard prior. King Krovanh was fair and when he gets some weight relief or lesser opposition can be in the money again. Kelly O’Reilly had a hard run wide then tried to force the pace across the top and will sleep well plus she is in foal so her racing days are numbered anyway. Stolen Dance may be competitive at WFA but will be more so under handicap conditions and can continue to embellish an already good record plus she has tactical pace so can negate track bias. Rasa Lila has a bigger stakes win in her this season and is versatile too in that she can rise to middle distance and cope too so WFA is an option. Silverdale has come up well and is a handicapper that is not just a sprinter/miler as he has won up to 2100m. Queen’s Rose will have options against her own sex through summer but likes cut in the ground at least these days. Sakhee’s Soldier is the head scratcher as his fight in a finish and like for a brawl is missing so far this time in. He may need to be put closer to the speed or action to re-ignite that will to prevail in a scrap. Carlotta will have ample opportunity this campaign against her own sex or at handicap level. Survived once on a different track to this should race better again and show his new yard have indeed worked him out.
