Leading jockey Danny Beasley continued his hot run of form over the weekend collecting one winner on Friday night before bagging a winning double on Sunday evening.

Having only rejoined the riding ranks at the beginning of February Beasley has wasted little time to regather momentum collecting 10 winners and six minor placegetters from just 47 rides.

Boasting a healthy strike rate of 21% Beasley has also outperformed the market striking at 17% above market expectations.

In other words from every 100 winners Beasley is expected to have ridden he has notched up 117.

At this stage the market would have expected Beasley to have collected approximately 8.5 wins, he has 10.

If you had level staked all of Beasley's rides you would have returned a POT of +46.3% — he certainly has been a friend of the punter!

Although one must always be careful assessing such a small sample size, Beasley is clearly in great form and is taking full of advantage of his short stint in Singapore (licensed to ride up until June 30).

Beasley currently sits sixth in the Jockey's Premiership with fellow ex-pat Corey Brown currently topping the leaderboard on 14 wins.

The Group 2 Merlion Trophy headlines this weekend in Singapore with Beasley booked to ride 2015 Singapore Horse Of The Year Stepitup.

While yet to ride the six-year-old previously, Beasley familiarised himself with the galloper in a recent barrier trial.

Fellow Singapore stars Spalato, El Padrino and Kiwi Karma will also take their place in the feature event in what shapes as a thrilling contest.

Awesome

Looking back there were a few notable performances in Singapore over the weekend, one being the Tan Hor Khoon trained Awesome.

Unbeaten from his first two starts the son of Showcasing has displayed above average ability and proceeded to take a big step forward when saluting narrowly in the third event.

While only a narrow winner on both occasions, his debut win saw him return time figures ahead of the bare form a key factor which he utilised when winning on the weekend.

Improving more than three lengths he is clearly a three-year-old heading in the right direction and creates plenty of interest moving forward.

Likely to be seen over a sprint trip next time out, if able to continue his upwards rating spiral he will no doubt be competitive if placed in suitable company.

One of many promising 3YOs in Singapore at present, Awesome is definitely one to place in your blackbook.

Royal Ruler

On Friday night the Patrick Shaw trained Royal Ruler bounced right back to form when too strong in the final event.

An eye catcher first up behind Roselli, something clearly went amiss second up when safely held behind Iking.

Given three weeks between runs, he was given a soft trial in the lead up and clearly appreciated getting back on to the polytrack.

His performance on Friday night saw him return time figures ahead of the bare form which indicates he can take that next step at his next outing.

A winner of three of his nine starts he is only lightly raced and while he may have had his niggling issues if Shaw can keep him intact he is a nice horse moving forward.
