The hot favourite Rasa Lila won this G3 for fillies and mares with heaps up the sleeve and was literally a class above these. The mare looked a moral on paper under set weights and penalties having 55kg as she had been racing well at G2 and G3 in all four runs prior. It was her sixth win today from twenty-three starts and her first blacktype success. She was buried back on the inner but once drawn into clear air at the 300m centre track the response after being detonated was devastating. The 5yo mare powered away to win by well over two lengths and clocked 1:36.33. Goodsav ran a better race and showed her true ability when being put in the race second the outer and does race well here. Illuminati shared the pace then took the lead outright after 500m and fought well once headed at the 200m. Mae West caught the eye late after being snagged back to last from the wide draw. She really surged two-off the closing stages. Meursault ran on okay from the back. Outside an outclassed Em Kay Pops that had a nightmare run wide and dropped right out the rest of the field was covered by just over five lengths at the line. It was not the strongest line up but Rasa Lila has more wins in store and is versatile too with four of her six wins coming at the mile plus she has scored up to 2100m.
