Wink And A Nod wins 2016 Belmont Sprint Group 3 $150,000 at Belmont Park (WA), 1400m.

Wink And A Nod put up a good effort in taking out her sixth stakes race, her first at Group level. She settled well in fifth place on the rails, angled into clear running on straightening and challenged at the 200m. She then finished a bit too well, going on to score comfortably at the finish in a smart effort. It was also a very good ride by Lucy Warwick.

Battle Hero enjoyed a good trip in third place on the rails before moving up well on turning for home. He took the lead at the 200m and then kept fighting on well really well for second, just finding the winner a bit too good in the latter stages.

Mr Utopia was near last, wide with cover before going deep on turning for home. He then came with a late run to take the minor placing in a photo.
