2016 Sky Racing Tattersall’s Qlty Listed July 23 - Doomben

3 minute read

Akavoroun wins 2016 Sky Racing Tattersall’s Qlty Listed $100,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1600m.

Akavoroun came off a strong pace to score a good win here. He began quickly from his wide barrier (11), was second early on before easing to get a good trip in fifth place between runners. He got along the rails to third on straightening, hit the front at the 100m and proved too good over the latter stages to win well.

Brettan was fifth in the early stages, got along the rails to be second at the home turn. He challenged at the 100m and kept fighting well to hold second, just finding the winner, whom conceded him 2kg, a bit too good.

Jetset Lad was back in eighth place on the rails. He was under riding at the home turn and stuck to the inner making ground to take the minor placing.

Flamboyer began well from his inside barrier (1) and showed his customary pace to lead. He then ran along at a fast pace (first 1000m 58.26) and was only overtaken at the 100m before holding on for a most creditable (2.4 lengths) fourth.
