Top Of My List wins 2017 Japan Racing Assoc Plate Group 3 $150,000 at Randwick (NSW), 2000m.
The Anthony and Edward Cummings-trained mare Top Of My List was a surprise $17 winner. She went to the front, going at a steady tempo in the conditions (first 1.33.25). She lifted the pace from the 600m and then fought off challengers to score well (last 600m in 36.67).
Sons Of John travelled nicely in fourth place on the rails, got through to challenge nearing the 200m. He then kept battling on well for a sound second.
Rudy raced in third place, one off the rails, moved up on straightening and kept battling on to take the minor placing. The favourite
Astronomos settled in fifth place, before making his move (wide) approaching the home turn. He briefly looked a threat at the 300m but then just kept fighting on for (3.9 lengths) fourth, failing to make ground in the sprint home in the Heavy 8 conditions.
