The $41 outsider Sunquest settled back in eighth place (on the rails), improved between runners at the home turn and then ran on well to take a good third.

Azazel raced in sixth place, one off the rails, moved up (deep) approaching the home turn and kept fighting quite well for (1.4 lengths) fourth.

He began quickly from his good barrier (3) went to the front and after going a bit keenly in the early part and then settled well.
