Gilt Complex has claimed his second feature race win in as many starts with a narrow victory in the Group 1 Dester Singapore Gold Cup (2200m) at Kranji on Sunday.

Coming off a win in the Raffles Cup (1800m) the start prior, Gilt Complex found plenty of trouble in the straight before getting out late to hit the line strongly and score a very narrow win over 2016 winner Bahana in second with Elite Excalibur third.

The Cliff Brown-trained runner ran to a new career peak rating of 112 well above 2016 winner Bahana and one pound below 2015 winner Cooptado.

Having run to a rating 110 when winning the Raffles Cup, Gilt Complex was able to improve off that run and has certainly hit form at the right time, his previous win back in March in a Kranji Stakes C (1700m).

With wins between 1200m and 2200m throughout his career, Gilt Complex has certainly shown his versatility and at the age of six can return next year to defend his Raffles and Singapore Cup crown.

Of the beaten runners, Bahana was very good in second only narrowly edged out over the concluding stages also running to a new career peak Timeform rating of 105, well above his winning figure last year.

Elite Excalibur followed up his third placing in the Raffles Cup with another good run for third, beaten a head and ran his highest rating since winning at Meydan earlier in the year.

Earlier in the program Super Fortune notched up another win over the 1200m trip with a strong victory in the Kranji Stakes A.

Settling off the leaders for much of the race, the short priced favourite was too strong for his rivals running out a one and a half length winner over Elusive Emperor in second with Wimbledon third.

Having now won five of his 11 starts and placing a further four occasions, Super Fortune ran his highest rating since coming to Singapore as he continues to work his way through the grades nicely.

Since his arrival, the four-year-old gelding has won four of his five starts all over the 1200m although he did win over 1400m in Australia indicating he can get over more ground.

Building an impressive career record, Super Fortune is certainly one to watch going forward.

Friday night saw two-year-old debutante Wooden Heart beat the older horses convincingly in the Restricted Maiden over 1100m on the Polytarack.

Leading throughout, the Michael Clements-trained runner kicked clear in the straight with Sattar to win by just under two lengths with Sorbeta just over seven lengths away from Wooden Heart in third.

Wooden Heart, ridden by Manoel Nunes ran to a Timeform rating of 73 and winning in such impressive fashion is one to watch as he makes his
