Thoroughly honest and twice Group-placed against her own gender and age group in the spring, Rimraam broke through for her maiden black type win in a well deserved victory here. She broke well but was outsped early to settle midfield (rails).

Jockey Damien Oliver bided his time until turning in and was presented with a view along the fence, drove her up, got a split one out just before the 100m then kept her going to the line, holding them by a half neck.

Bring Me Roses turned for home midfield, pulled out into the centre of the track and kept up a strong run for a good second.

Shokora was third last at the 400m, tried to match Bring Me Roses and also ran on strongly for a close up third.

Paris Rock tried to get on terms with the leader at the 200m and kept on well for fourth.
