Faraway Town wins 2018 Triscay Stakes Group 3 $150,000 at Randwick (NSW), 1200m.

Matthew Smith-trained mare Faraway Town followed her first up win in a Benchmark 85 (1200m) at this track on 20 January with a good win in taking out her first stakes victory here.

She raced in fifth place, one off the rails, tracking a good pace, before commencing her run from the 300m. She got to the front at the 100m and then dug deep to score by a half-head.

Zestful settled back in second last place from her wide barrier (14). She went deep from the 300m and finished well, late, for a very good first up second.

Raiment raced in ninth place, between runners, got clear at the 200m and then kept running on nicely to take third.

Gibraltar Girl was handy most of the way, looked dangerous at the 200m and then fought on for fourth, beaten a length, while Just Dreaming ran on well for (1.3 lengths) fifth in a good first up run.
