Sam Clipperton from next week will claim 2kg in the city after the promising apprentice rode his 20th metropolitan winner at the ATC Kembla Grange meeting on Wednesday.
Clipperton chalked up his 20th city winner at the ATC Kembla Grange meeting when he steered the John O'Shea-trained favourite Carmine King to victory in the NMW TAB.com.au Handicap (1200m).
After outriding his three kilogram claim, Clipperton recorded a winning double for the day with a narrow success aboard Onecatstoomany for master Ron Quinton in the final race of the afternoon.
As acceptances for Canterbury on Friday night and Warwick Farm on Saturday had already been taken prior to Clipperton's 20th city win, the up and coming apprentice will still claim 3kg at each of those meetings.
The first metropolitan meeting Clipperton will claim 2kg at is the ATC program at Hawkesbury scheduled for February 7.
Since Warwick Farm's Australia Day program a week ago, Clipperton has been on fire having posted five wins and four minor placings from 14 rides at metropolitan meetings.
Clipperton will return to Warwick Farm on Saturday where he can continue his purple patch of form.
The talented apprentice has four rides with main chances the Peter Snowden-trained Detours in Race 2 and John Thompson's last start winner Honourable Aussie in Race 5.
