Flying Snitzel recorded her first career stakes success last start when claiming the Group 3 Schweppervescence (1400m) at Rosehill on Golden Slipper Day.

The Triple Crown Syndications-raced filly will step up in both distance and class when contesting Saturday's Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on Saturday.

“Flying Snitzel is going tremendous, she is ticking along really well," Triple Crown Syndications' Chris Ward said.

"I think she is screaming out for the mile.”

“The Champagne Stakes is where we've always wanted to target her.

“I think she will really appreciate the journey and perform quite well.”

It will be the fillies toughest test to date as she looks to prevent Gai Waterhouse-trained Pierro claiming the 2YO Triple Crown.

“Pierro will be the horse to beat,” Ward said.

“It was very impressive in the Sires produce but I think she will run very well and give him a run for his money.”

Flying Snitzel has enjoyed a successful autumn campaign to date having also placed behind Ichihara in the Magic Night Stakes (1200m).

It was her victory in The Schweppervescence which particularly caught the eye where she beat subsequent Fernhill Handicap winner and likely rival on Saturday, Dear Demi.

“She carried the 58kg against the boys and having to make a very long run of it, it was quite a dominant win,” Ward said.

“She steps up further in grade here into the Champagne Stakes but off the back of that dominant display and the extra 200m I think she is going to be very competitive.”

Other likely rivals include Gai Waterhouse-trained Raceway and Sires' Produce placegetter Limes.
