The 2011 Queensland Guineas and Magic Millions Guineas winner had struggled for form during an injury interrupted 2011/12 season and has now been transferred to David Pfieffer.

The switch from the Wyong-based Brett Partelle was made following a poor run in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) last start.

Torio's Quest will be re-united with Gai's Choice after she switched back to the Pfieffer stable from Partelle earlier this season and has since gone unbeaten in three starts.

Owned by Bert Vieira, Torio's Quest is just one of a large amount raced by the prominent owner including Gai's Choice now under Pfieffer's care.

“I'm very happy with acquiring a horse like him,” Pfieffer said.

“He is definitely a Group horse and I'll do my best to give him every chance at my place.

“Acquiring horses like that is what it is all about. For someone like me who has only been training for five years, I'm going at a very good strike rate and things are going great for me.

“I'm picking up new horses and new clients all of the time and getting some good solid horses there. It is what any young trainer wants.”

Connections will decide over the coming days what lies in store for Torio's Quest during the coming months.

“He is at my place now but we are just going to sum up some options now and make a plan for his future,” Pfieffer said.

“There are obviously all of these carnivals coming up. He raced in the Sydney autumn carnival, then he raced at Scone, then Brisbane. He's had a long preparation so I just want to see how he is at my place and then make a plan for him.”

Torio's Quest will be one of the horses on show this weekend when David Pfieffer has an open day at his stables on Saturday.

“We'll have Torio's Quest there, a small parade of racehorses and a parade of yearlings which I've got available to syndicate,” Pfieffer said.

The Open Day commences midday at Pfieffer's stables on 12 Bull Street.
