Waller Fillies Clean Up

3 minute read

She's Clean has continued her rise through the grades despite missing the start badly before saluting in Saturday's Fillies And Mares Nitto Benchmark 80.

Following an easy kill on resuming at Gosford, She's Clean put in a career best display at Warwick Farm on Saturday.

The daughter of Redoute's Choice blew the start with Blake Shinn forced to position the filly at the rear of the field.

It was an impressive effort from the pair who proceeded to peel deepest turning for home before powering down the centre of the track for a 1.5 length win.

Stablemate Berrimilla was runner up with Houston Benefactor third.

“To see She's Clean flatten out like that, it was good to see,” winning trainer Chris Waller said.

“Both horses we are still learning about and are heading onto bigger and better things.

“She has been a late developer. The Ingham family as they always do leave things to me and give them a bit of time and she is a good example of that as is the second horse.”

She's Clean's success in the Nitto Benchmark 80 (1400m) was the first leg of a winning double for Blake Shinn who saluted aboard Spinnawitch in the following event.

While missing the start was not ideal, Shinn remained calm and got a perfect trail into the race behind stablemate Berrimilla.

“I just had to ride her quiet and not panic,” Shinn said.

“I got on the back of the right one, followed Corey [Berrimilla] and she travelled like the winner from about the 600m.

“She quickened really good.

“She had a confidence boosting win first up and obviously she has come back a lot better and she is going to keep getting better I think.”

Generally ridden more forward last campaign, She's Clean for differing reasons has found herself settling much further back in her two runs this preparation.

“She is pretty versatile but she might just have that bit better turn of foot ridden that bit conservatively one run and that has obviously paid dividends her first two runs back,” Shinn said.
