The David Hinton-trained runner was last seen when running midfield in the listed Gai Waterhouse Classic at Ipswich in the winter, and will be looking to get back to the form that won her The Group 3 Sun Herald Stakes at Flemington last spring.

“She is going well at the moment,” said Hinton.

“She is fit and bright and looks good going into Saturday,” he added.

“We have had her back in work for a while as she had a pretty difficult campaign up in Brisbane so we took our time to get her right.

“She goes pretty good fresh but it is pretty tough opposition in these sorts of races so she has to do everything right.”

The six-year-old mare is one of 21 nominations for the race that features the Peter Snowden-trained Aerobatics along with Platelet and the in form Miss Marx.

Top Sydney jockey Nash Rawiller who has partnered Sophie's Spirit twice for a win and second placing will take the ride, and Hinton has indicated she is likely to roll forward.

“She likes to roll along a bit but it depends on how fast they go and where she is comfortable but she races well on these sorts of tracks,” Hinton told Radio Sport National.

“She will only have a few runs this campaign as we are a bit late getting her going and we will look at the Summond Stakes again at Sandown this year but there are a couple of races for her on that day.”

The daughter of Invincible Spirit was passed in at the sales for $27,500 as a yearling and has collected almost $278,000 in prizemoney.
