Ironstein has been scratched from this afternoon's Newcastle Cup in favour of Saturday's Hill Stakes.
Trainer Gerald Ryan's son Blake confirmed the decision on track at Newcastle this afternoon after watching Command More notch an impressive maiden win in the opening race.
“He comes into gate one with Hawkspur coming out, and it's level weights as well,” Blake Ryan said.
“I think he had gate 12 today with 59 on his back.
“He'll go there and possibly the Metrop after that, see how he goes and then off to Melbourne to have a third crack at the Queen Elizabeth which he won two years ago, and ran second in to Puissance de Lune last year.”
Meanwhile, Snitzerland remains on track to resume in next Friday night's Group 1 Moir Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley.
She'll clash with the likes of Buffering and Bel Sprinter in search of a maiden Group 1 triumph.
“She trialled really well Tuesday morning and pulled up well, she's bigger, stronger this time in and really filled out, we're really happy with her,” Ryan said.
“She's measured up before, she meets Bel Sprinter better at the weights for him beating her at the Galaxy and she flies fresh. She's won at night around the Valley, she'll be hard to beat.”
