3 minute read

Racing and Sports will provide analysis of games in the 2024 AFL Season.

We'll endeavour to run through the form, incorporate appropriate stats and also supply a betting prediction which won't always just be who will win.

BRISBANE v MELBOURNE

Friday 28 June @ Gabba

One side is on the way up and the other seemingly marking time and yet on the ladder their positions are reversed.

Brisbane looks to be going up in a hurry. They may not have all the chess pieces of last year but will be a dangerous opponent for the rest of 2024.

They will be kicking themselves at those early season losses at home because it could cost Top 4 but the way they saw off Port Adelaide, it may not matter.

Kicking 23 goals away from home is even better for the mindset. The big name mids got going and that gave their forwards chances. When Hipwood, Daniher and Cameron kick 10 between them, they'll win more often than not.

Will the Demons have the scoring potential to overcome that firepower away from the MCG?

They scrambled over a quickly improving Kangas. It might be like that without Petracca now. When the two pillars down back are re-united, at least they will have that as a backbone.

Match Brisbane Melbourne Ground
Last time they met 12.10 [82] 8.12 [60] MCG
Last 10 matches 5 wins 5 wins
Notes Lions have won 3 of the last 4 clashes
2 of those were at the MCG including a Semi Final

It seems too obvious to say Brisbane will win and win easily. The Melbourne defence will need to play a blinder.

With Cameron ready to get less coverage from the defenders, tipping him to snag a few in a high scoring game assuming the lights stay on.

Match Selection: Brisbane by 33 points

Suggested Bets: Charlie Cameron 3+ goals @ $3.20 @ bet365
