Emerging AFL midfield stars Patrick Dangerfield and Rory Sloane appear set to sign new contracts with the Adelaide Crows.
Adelaide midfielder Rory Sloane expects sought-after teammate Patrick Dangerfield to join him in signing a new AFL contract with the Crows.
The emerging Victorian-born stars, key components of Adelaide's rise to second on the ladder, fall out of contract at season's end.
Both are in negotiations with the Crows and are set to reject offers from rival clubs.
"Me and Patty are both loyal people," Sloane told reporters on Tuesday.
"We're enjoying our footy over here at the moment.
"And I know we both love the way (coach) Brenton (Sanderson) is handling things ... we love the way the team is going.
"It's a really good feeling around the club and it's something that would be great to be involved with for a couple of years."
Sloane and Dangerfield, both 22, are enjoying break-out seasons which have pushed their value into the upper echelon.
While several clubs including Geelong and Essendon are believed to be courting Dangerfield, his midfield partner Sloane has always appeared certain to remain in Adelaide.
But Sloane's negotiations with the Crows hit a hurdle when his manager Alex McDonald broke away from the Stride Management company.
The split forced Sloane, who stayed with McDonald, to put contract talks with the Crows on hold.
"That definitely threw us around a bit," Sloane said.
"But (list manager David Noble) Nobes and (football manager) Phil Harper were really good about it. I went to them first and explained my situation.
"It was a different situation I think for them and for me, and they have been really good.
"We held off talks for a while but now we're back into it and will hopefully have something finalised soon."
