COLLINGWOOD VS ESSENDON
Betting Strategy
BACK Collingwood (WIN) @ $1.52
Collingwood fell victim to the Suns playing at a home ground, but were still able to score plenty of points and create opportunities for themselves. The Magpies have a much stronger record when playing at home, going undefeated in their last five matches at the MCG.
The Magpies are looking destined for another top-4 finish, having only lost two of their last 12 matches- with 3 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses against fellow top-8 sides.
Cracks are starting to show at Essendon, losing three of their last four matches- with that solitary victory coming against West Coast where they failed to cover the line as the favourite.
Essendon are yet to win a game against a top-8 side, with one draw and four losses against the game's best sides.
NORTH MELBOURNE VS GOLD COAST
Betting Strategy
BACK- North Melbourne Line (+17.5 pts) @ $1.87
North Melbourne have improved significantly over the last month of football, covering the line as the underdog in all of the past four matches- which included their first victory of the year and single digit losses to Collingwood and Melbourne.
The Kangaroos have covered the line as the underdog in their last three straight matches at Marvel Stadium.
Gold Coast impressed against one of the Premiership favourites in Collingwood with a brilliant victory at Carrara. However, the Suns are yet to prove themselves away from home.
The Suns are 0-7 when playing away from their home grounds, failing to even cover the line in any of these matches. Damien Harwick's hatred of Marvel Stadium could grow if the Suns can't knock off the Kangaroos.
PORT ADELAIDE VS WESTERN BULLDOGS
Betting Strategy
BACK- Total Points Over 167.5 @ $1.87
In eight of the last 10 matches involving the Western Bulldogs the points have gone over the total, with their matches averaging 175 total points during this time.
The last two matches Port Adelaide have played at home have gone over the total, both were very high scoring matches totalling 178 and 225 points.
GEELONG VS HAWTHORN
Betting Strategy
BACK- Hawthorn Line (+10.5 pts) @ $1.87
Hawthorn's form has been some of the best of any side in the league, winning five straight games and seven of their last eight. The Hawks have covered the line in all of their last six matches when starting as the underdog.
Geelong have failed to cover the line as the favourite in four out of five games played at GMHBA Stadium this season.
The Cats have lost six of their last eight matches, and failed to cover the line in their last five straight matches when starting as the favourite.
GWS VS CARLTON
Betting Strategy
LAY: GWS @ $2
Carlton have put their hand up as the number one challenger for the Swans to win this years Premiership. Their strong form has seen them win five straight matches, covering the line in all of these five matches.
The Blues have won three of their four interstate matches this season.
GWS have won just two of their last six matches which included a poor loss last week to Adelaide by 16 points.
The Giants have only won once out of four games when starting as the underdog. The Blues have won 10 of 12 matches when starting as the favourite, including their last six straight matches.
FREMANTLE VS RICHMOND
Betting Strategy
BACK- Fremantle Line (-43.5 pts) @ $1.87
Fremantle have shown themselves to be a genuine finals contender with a massive scalp against the Swans at the SCG last week, holding on for a 1-point victory. The Dockers have lost just one of their last six matches.
When starting as the favourite, the Dockers have covered the line in five of seven occasions in 2024. Richmond on-the-other hand have only covered the line in three of their last nine matches when starting as the underdog.
The Tigers have won just one of their last 11 matches and are 1-4 when playing interstate.
The last time these two sides played, Fremantle won by 54-points at the MCG.
MELBOURNE VS WEST COAST
Betting Strategy
BACK- Melbourne Line (-32.5 pts) @ $1.87
West Coast have lost all of their matches away from Optus Stadium this season, holding a 0-7 record and covering the line as underdogs in 2 out of these 7 matches.
Melbourne's form hasn't been great in recent weeks, but looked slightly back on track with a 6-point loss against Brisbane at the Gabba last round- one of the hardest tasks in football.
The Demons have won 6 out of 9 matches at the MCG this season, with those 6 wins coming at an average margin of 32 points.
ST.KILDA VS SYDNEY
Betting Strategy
BACK- Sydney Swans Line (-20.5 pts) @ $1.87
St Kilda have won just three of their last 11 matches, sitting well off the pace for the finals hunt. Their record against top-8 sides is just 1-6, with their only victory coming against Collingwood all the way back in Round 2.
Prior to the Swans loss last weekend to Fremantle, they had won 10 straight matches, covering the line as the favourites in nine of these matches.
Sydney have won their 13 matches this season by an average margin of 37 points.
Sydney have won their last five matches at Marvel Stadium.
BRISBANE VS ADELAIDE
Betting Strategy
BACK- Brisbane @ $1.22
Brisbane have only lost once in the last eight matches which included four straight wins when playing at their home the Gabba.
Adelaide is 2-4 when playing interstate matches this season, with one of these victories coming against North Melbourne which was a walk up win earlier in the year.
Brisbane have had a strong record against the Crows in recent years, with five wins, one loss and one draw since 2019, including three straight wins against them at the Gabba.
