Snapshot of the Swans' AFL qualifying final win

3 minute read

Everything you need to know about Sydney's qualifying win over GWS at the SCG.

SNAPSHOT OF THE SECOND AFL QUALIFYING FINAL:

Result:

Sydney 13.10 (88) bt Greater Western Sydney 12.10 (82) at the SCG.

They said it: "That was off its chops." - Sydney superstar Isaac Heeney on the chaotic finish and heaving crowd.

Key moment: Heeney's incredible mark on the wing ignited Sydney's stunning second-half comeback. The fan favourite floated on Jack Buckley's shoulders, climbed higher yet, hung in the air as time seemingly stood still then did well to avoid landing on his head.

The stat: Joel Amartey had just two kicks in the match. The second, hurried from the pocket, sent the ball bouncing through the middle for the match-winning goal.

Injuries: The Giants' Darcy Jones appeared to hurt his ribs in a bruising collision with Hayden McLean during the first quarter, but played on and played well.

What's next? The Swans have earned a home preliminary final against Port Adelaide or Hawthorn, while GWS's season will be on the line in week two of the finals.

Imagine what you could be buying instead.
