ST KILDA v WEST COAST
Saturday 20 July @ Marvel Stadium
Not a really exciting clash in one of those this weekend that doesn't have much going for it.
What St Kilda gained from the week before against Sydney, they gave back in Adelaide.
Two big changes with Hill and Windhager hurt badly and then the rest didn't do it for the entire four quarters.
Simply not enough goal scorers with Max King out has to hurt over a long period. It can work one off but not over extended time.
If you could trust that West Coast would bring the talent and pressure that they did at home against Brisbane you'd be prepared to give them a huge chance.
Trouble is they don't seem to do that in Melbourne. Perhaps it was just that 'sacked coach' mentality response which kicked in.
They even did it without McGovern marshalling troops from the back. He is such a general.
Match | St Kilda | West Coast | Ground |
Last time they met | 12.10 [82] | 10.8 [68] | Optus |
Last 10 matches | 5 wins | 5 wins
Notes | In those 10 games, the biggest margin is 28
Last 8 clashes, each side has only kicked 100+ once |
There is no way the Saints should be so short and yet it's likely its right given what West Coast could bring.
Best way here is to see what the Eagles dish up early. If they are in it by Q1, they are dangerous. Low scoring looks likely.
