AUS V PAK SECOND T20

After victory in a helter-skelter affair at the Gabba, Australia will be looking to secure the series with another win over Pakistan in the second T20I at the SCG on Saturday night. With the rain in Brisbane only clearing in time to allow for a seven over match, it was the hosts that got the jump on their rivals, creaming 93 off those seven overs thanks to a frenetic 43 off 19 balls from the enigmatic Glenn Maxwell as well as some late hitting from all-rounder Marcus Stoinis (21 not out off seven balls), before they restricted the Pakistanis to 9/64 with pacemen Xavier Bartlett (3/13 off two overs) and Nathan Ellis (3/9 off two overs) both proving highly effective. There wasn't too much for the visitors to take away from the shortened game, save for an impressive all-round performance from 23-year-old Abbas Afridi who claimed 2/9 off his solitary over before smacking an unbeaten 20 off 10 balls in an entertaining late cameo.

Betting Strategy

BACK: Pakistan (Match Odds) at $3.15+ for 1 unit

Perhaps emboldened by their dominant display at the Gabba, the market has installed the Aussies as distinct favourites to wrap-up the series in Sydney. Although one might argue that Thursday night's encounter highlighted Pakistan's deficiency with the bat, particularly in regards to power hitting in the middle order, I don't believe you can take too much out of such a heavily reduced game and on an SCG surface that will offer less pace and bounce than we saw in Brisbane, I just cannot overlook the outsiders at the price.
