Hawaiian Malia Manuel and Californian Courtney Conlogue will contest the final of the Beachley Classic women's surfing event in Sydney.

The Australians have been routed at the Beachley Classic women's surfing event at Sydney's Dee Why Beach, with Tyler Wright and Rebecca Woods both losing their semi-finals.

Hawaiian Malia Manuel and Californian Courtney Conlogue will contest Saturday's final.

Manuel, who beat current rankings leader and four-time world champion Stephanie Gilmore in the quarters, defeated Wright with combined wave scores of 12.67 to 10.50 in the first semi-final.

Conlogue, who eliminated current world champion Carissa Moore on Friday, ended Australian hopes with a 14.33 to 10.10 semi-final win over Woods.

Gilmore, her closest rankings challenger Sally Fitzgibbons and Laura Enever were the three Australians to fall at the quarter-final stage.

Eighth-ranked Manuel and ninth-ranked Conlogue are both teenagers and neither had previously advanced beyond the quarter-finals of a senior tour event.
