Trainer Kenny Rae is a long-time supporter of the West Coast racing circuit and he believes that John Messara’s recommendation of racecourse consolidation in the area is misguided.

Seven-year-old stayer Kaharau bounced back to winning form on Sunday for Ruakaka trainers Ken Rae and Krystal Williams-Tuhoro, winning the No Limits Interiors Open Handicap (2030m) at Cromwell.

Kenny Rae’s punting mates may have felt short-changed after Kaharau won at Ellerslie, but they were all smiles after stablemate Major Tom followed suit in the closing event on Saturday.
