Geraldton racecourse is a small oval course with a circumference of 1650 metres and a home straight of 360 metres. Races are conducted in the anti-clockwise direction over distances from 1100m to 2000m with starting chutes catering for races over 1400m, 1600m and 2000m. The straight run from the 1400m chute to the start of a big horseshoe turn at the 800m ensures races over sprint distances are run at a fast pace.
