“She’s been terrific. It’s only her first prep and she’s so tough. She got pressured last start and and she was the only one to stay up on the speed and stay on. She won’t go away.
“I said to Luke, even though she’ll be up on the speed, contain it as much as you can and get her to roll along early because she’s a little bit one-paced. He put them off the bit and she was never going away. You could just see that she was in for the fight. She’s a very tough filly.
She handled the surface: “It’s a beautiful track. It’s a normal heavy. Great track, very even ground and just in the heavy range, I think. Magnus’ all seem to handle it and she’s shown an aptitude for it at home too.”
What’s next - Flemington Finals Day: “That’s where we’ll go. Then we’ll give her a good break towards the spring. This is her first prep and it is all coming pretty quick for her. She just keep buttering up and even though she mightn’t show it she eats very well. That holds her in good stead.
Winning Jockey: Luke Currie
“Mick said to me before the race that she didn’t have to go out and go silly but you want to get on your bike. She probably lacks that turn-of-foot. She has a flat spot but she is tough through the line. It worked out perfectly for her today.
“She’s only had the few runs and she’s improving. She’s quite a nice type of horse so I think there’ll be better races in her than this, for sure.”
