“She’s tough. We probably didn’t expect her to be outside of the leader. We thought Harmony Rose would probably take up the lead and slacken off and that happened.

“She’s a tough animal and toughed it out. They had a chance to beat her in the straight and couldn’t do it.

Stable success: “It’s fantastic. We’re chipping away and Symon has put a lot of years into his facility. It’s a wonderful facility on the coast at Warrnambool and the team will get a massive buzz out of this.

“He’s purchased a lot of untried horses and we’re building a team and competing at Group level.

“Today, this horse, it’s got a great lot of owners in it. I think Nanna Bryant was in tears after the benchmark 78 so so the waterworks will open up after a Group 3, but everyone does a great job and will be thrilled.”

Tralee Rose: “She galloped yesterday and it is still a little but up in the air. She’s in a great spot physically but we’ll see what transpires on the weekend with the St Leger in Sydney. She’s 27th (order), she may go around in the Geelong Cup which would be the preferred option. We’ll know more over the weekend.”

“I thought I was going better than Brett (Prebble on Harmony Rose). Brett keeps beating me in all the finished so I wasn’t counting my chickens.

“She did get on the chewy a bit in the run and I was worried it might take away from her finish, but she was good to the line.

Up in distance or stay: “I’d probably go a mile again with the way she was wanting to get on with it. I’ve got a lot of faith in Symon, I’ve ridden a lot of winners and what he says goes.”
