“It’s been great this week and she did a good job today. I think he (Moloney) is three-for-three on this mare and he gets it right with her. I thought she was super the other day at Caulfield. Just got away from the young fella mid-race and to just get beaten by two-lengths for the time she was running was a good effort.

“She railed well today and she was good.

Gear change: “It’s only guesswork. I’m not a genius. They can see a bit more from behind them, don’t feel as closed in. I’m not sure if it was the blinkers the other day or that I had her too fresh but Patrick handled her well.

“I wasn’t going to run her on Tuesday but as the track improved got a bit more confident there. She’d won and placed on the soft.”

“It’s good to be on the board but also at the ‘Bool in general. It’s my first winner. My family actually started training around here so good to get a winner.

“Pa won a couple of Warrnambool Cups and my great-grandfather, he won a Grand Annual so it is a rich family history here at Warrnambool. Dad and John moved back to Melbourne so it is good to get back here with a winner.

“She just probably went a bit (too) strong over the 1400 metres here at Caulfield. Her sectionals, for her to finish that close in the end were phenomenal. ‘Nobby’ just said to me if you harness her a little bit in the first half of the race she’ll be pretty hard to run down which was proven.”
